"Siberian Haiku" is a visually poetic and technologically sophisticated paper animation that follows the experiences and perspective of a young Lithuanian boy, Algis, as he and his family are exiled to Siberia. The play is based on the award-winning Lithuanian graphic novel of the same title by writer Jurga Vile and artist Lina Itagaki. Director Valters Sīlis and his creative team have created this work as a technically nuanced and emotionally charged message for children from the age of 10 about the deportation experience of people from the Baltic States, revealing these history pages from a child's perspective.
