"Siberian haiku" at the "Daugavpils festival #5"
For the third year in a row, several professional theatres will gather in Daugavpils at the beginning of summer, opening the city festival celebrations with a diverse and rich programme.
“Theatre Festival No. 5” will take place from 31 May to 4 June, offering seven performances, including guest performances from Estonia and Italy. As in previous years, the festival programme will also include talks with audiences and professional discussions on current topics in the field.
The festival’s slogan remains unchanged — “Latgale is close” — reminding both festival guests and the people of Latgale that the region is not some unreachable place in the context of Latvia or Europe. The festival proves this in practice, bringing together more and more theatres each year and expanding the geography of its participants.
This year’s festival will also feature the Latvian Puppet Theatre’s performance “Siberian Haiku” on 4 June at 18.00!
