To pick up a book and begin reading is like opening a door and stepping into a house you have never visited before — looking around, settling in, meeting its inhabitants and discovering their secrets.

For more than 20 years, the publishing house “Liels un mazs” has been publishing books for children of different ages. These include works by Latvian authors and translations, picture books and stories, poetry and comics. Quite often, one of these books is transformed into a performance and brought to the stage of the Latvian Puppet Theatre. You can both read about Lasis Stasis, Bruņinieks, Oskars, Dilles tante, Olga and Aļģis — and see their stories performed at the Puppet Theatre!

In the exhibition “Book Rooms”, every book published by “Liels un mazs” has its own wallpaper. Try to guess which wallpaper belongs to which book!

The exhibition will be on view from 8 August in the foyer of the Latvian Puppet Theatre.
